My Counseling Philosophy:
I strongly believe that you have the inner strength and courage to walk through the emotional difficulties that are weighing you down. I will be your guide as you explore emotional wounds that prevent you from living the purposeful life you are meant to live. Our journey of life is filled with events that may create emotional disruptions and if left untreated, can grow into unintended consequences. My goal is to guide you through those experiences, build and grow your toolbox with skills that empower you.
Training and Therapy Approach:
I have received specialized training in trauma treatment, and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist through The International Association of Trauma Professionals. I have also been trained in Trauma Informed Care and take steps to ensure I create a safe environment where you can connect with your experiences and emotions. I utilize various evidenced-base therapy approaches to address your areas of concern. I have received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Other approaches I utilize Mindfulness and Family Systems.
I work with clients who are experiencing Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, chronic stress, victims of intimate partner violence, childhood abuse, and past trauma. Experiencing trauma can create additional problems in other areas of your life which can affect relationships, self-esteem, work or family conflict, and life transitions.
