My Counseling Philosophy:
I strongly believe that everyone can have a life they are happy with. Even when things do not turn out the way you expect them and life throws you a curveball, you can still find ways to optimize the quality of your life to increase your overall happiness. None of us want to have problems with stress, anxiety, or any other unpleasant emotion, but once you learn the skills that are needed to get you through those difficult moments, you will experience a more satisfying life. I will work with you and help you gain the skills you need so you can experience the joy of life again.

Training and Therapy Approach:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona and Nevada. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from Eastern Michigan University. I hold a dual Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and in Clinical Psychology. I am currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology which will give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience in the field of mental health. I am trained in Evidence-Based Practices and utilize various modalities to tailor services to each person and I provide a space to freely explore cultural differences. I am a Trauma Informed Care therapist, received training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist- Individual (CCTS-I), Advance Training for Trauma Treatment of Complex PTSD, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and other modalities.

Treatment Focus:
I work with individuals and families who are struggling with emotional distress. I enjoy working with children and teens dealing with behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, defiance, relationship distress, among other difficulties. I also work with those dealing with Substance Use, Grief/Loss, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and the Autisms Spectrum.

What to Expect from Me:
You can expect to be treated with respect, understanding, and empathy. I will work alongside you to set goals and objectives that will give us direction for the work we will do together. Throughout your journey, I will function as your accountability partner to help you practice the new skills you will be learning. You can also expect that I will be professional, ethical, and maintain a therapist/client relationship as a way to ensure you succeed. I am committed to be a social change agent and it starts with you.

When I Am Not Working:
Since I am new to Arizona, when I am not working, I spend my time exploring this beautiful state.
